Introduction of Beed:-

Beed is a city in the central region of Maharashtra state in India. It is the administrative headquarters in Beed district. The district occupies an area of 10,693 km² and has a population of 2,585,049 of which 17.91% were urban (as of 2011). This district is divided into eleven talukas (or tehsils). Summers in the town of Beed normally last for a long time, that is, for at least five months in a row. It starts in February and lasts till June with a maximum temperature of 40°C and a minimum of 31°C. However, winters are most fitting since the weather remains mild and pleasant. Summers are too sweltering but are perfect to visit hilly regions. In monsoons also, heavy downpours are observed but, rains add to the beauty of mountainous areas.

Culture and Tradition of Beed:-

The culture of the city of Beed is centered around the traditional Marathi and Hindu customs and festivals. There are no public places in the city except cinema halls and a small, little maintained garden. Till a few years back there were seven cinema halls, but now only two are remaining; namely ‘Asha’ and ‘Santoshimata’. Two parks were maintained until 1969 by the municipal council. Various temples and other tourist spots are also a part of Beed’s rich heritage.

Tourism in Beed:-

  1. Parli Vaijnath Temple: In the renowned Beed district of Maharashtra, rests yet another ‘jyotirlinga’ temple of India on the top of a small hill — Parali Vaijnath Temple. Popularly known as the ‘Vaijanath Temple,’ each corner of the temple whispers the secrets of the mythological stories, never revealing the full story. Somewhere like the other ‘jyotirlinga’ temples, Parali Vaijnath too has a story to tell; not just one but many.

2. Majalgaon Dam: Majalgaon is located in the Beed district of Maharashtra. Majalgaon Dam and Majalgaon Right Bank Canal are components of the Jaikwadi Project Stage II. A dam has been constructed across the Sindhaphana river, which is a major tributary of the Godawari river, also known as Dakshin Ganga. It’s a great tourist attraction.

3. Yogeshwari Temple: Shri Yogeshwari is an ancient temple of Goddess Durga, located at Ambejogai one of Goddess Shakti Peeth. Many Brahmins of Western India worship as their Kuldevi. Yogeshwari Aai is considered as matruka shakti of Lord Shiva. Her name is derived from the words Yoga and Ishwari. It means she is the controller of Yoga shakti. There is a famous temple near Talbi road at Bhinmal, Rajasthan with mesmerizing idols of Yogeshwari and Varunachi Devi. Also are three famous temples of Yogeshwari Devi in Maharashtra. One is at Ambajogai, the other is in Lanja near Ratnagiri in form of the consort of Kalabhairava and the third is in Pune as Tambadi Jogeshwari.
