We, the team ‘Mahabloggers’ from Rotaract district 3131, Pune, India, welcome you aboard on this virtual tour, ‘ महाराष्ट्राची चंदेरी दुनिया’ around our glorious and magnificient state of Maharastra with 36 spectacular and eminent districts, each rich with its distinct culture, heritage, and history, yet rooted to the illustrous spirit of valour of this state, which is the जन्मभूमी of innumerous brave and historically significant personalities. So, fasten your seat belts as we take you around the resplendent districts of Maharshtra. Our first destination for this tour is Hingoli.
Introduction of Hingoli:-
Hingoli is located in the northern part of Marathwada in Maharashtra. Frontiers of Hingoli are enclosed by the Akola and Yevotmal on the northern side, Parbhani on the western side, and Nanded on the south-eastern side. The district evolved into presence by the division of Parbhani district on 1st May 1999. 4,526 kilometers, the district has a community of around 987,160. Hingoli district was established in the year 1999. Hingoli and Basmath are the 2 significant sub-divisions of the district.
The main language spoken in the city is Marathi with a typical Hingoli flavor. Other languages spoken are Marwari, Hindi, Dakkhani Urdu.
Summers are hot in Hingoli lasting from March to June. The temperature in summer has a maximum of 38 degrees centigrade. Monsoon sets in July and runs through till September. The average maximum temperature during monsoon is 27 degrees centigrade and the minimum is about 20 degrees centigrade. However, a good time to visit Hingoli is from October to March.
Culture and Tradition of Hingoli:-
The town, being close to the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, was of crucial strategic significance during British Raj. In the town can still be found the state farm building which was the base for British Army. As a result of the military foundation, a large number of people from all over India made the town their homes, which includes the people from UP, MP, Rajasthan, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh. The town is famous for its annual fair festival of ‘Dasara’ (दसरा महोत्सव), which was inaugurated in September 1853. It is the second most considerable Dasara Mahotsav in India.

Tourism in Hingoli:-
- Tulaja Devi Sansthan: The Tulaja Devi Sansthan is one of the most magnificent temples in the Hingoli District. The temple was devoted to the great Hindu goddess Tulja Bhavani.
- Aundha Nagnath: Aundha Nagnath is an influential religious spot of the district. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Aundha Nagnath is commonly visited by pilgrims especially during the celebration of Shivratri and Vijayadashmi from various corners of India. It is stated that Dharmraj established this temple. The delicate carvings of the temple makes it worth visiting.
- Mallinath Digambar Jain: This ancient temple for the Jains resides in Shirad Shahapur village. Fables have it that the statue of Lord Mallinath here dates back to 300 years old.
- Sant Namdev Sansthan: Saint Shree Namdev was born in 1270 in the Narsi village. Each year, Narsi village hosts a fair in honor of the saint. Seeing, the fame of the fair the state government has declared Narsi as a spiritual as well as a tourist place.
Food of Hingoli:-
As Hingoli is a significant district of Maharashtra all typical dishes made up of wheat, rice, jowar, peanuts, a lot of spices, herbs, coconut oil, etc are easily available. Listing down the most popular ones like Pav Bhaji, Vada Pav, and Misal Pav, all are available. One can visit any nearby/feasible restaurant and experience great cuisine.
