We, the team ‘Mahabloggers’ from Rotaract district 3131, Pune, India, welcome you aboard on this virtual tour, ‘ महाराष्ट्राची चंदेरी दुनिया’ around our glorious and magnificent state of Maharastra with 36 spectacular and eminent districts, each rich with its distinct culture, heritage, and history, yet rooted to the illustrious spirit of valor of this state, which is the जन्मभूमी of innumerous brave and historically significant personalities. So, fasten your seat belts as we take you around the resplendent districts of Maharashtra. Our first destination for this tour is Jalna.

Introduction of Jalna:-

Jalna district is approximately situated at the center part of Maharashtra state of Republic of India and in northern direction of Marathwada region.

Jalna was formerly a part of Nizam State and after the Marathwada Mukti Sangram, became part of India, as a tahsil of Aurangabad district.
 The boundaries of the Jalna district are adjacent to Parbhani & Buldhana on the east, Aurangabad on the west, Jalgaon on the north, and Beed on the south. Jalna district covers an area of 7,612 Sq. Kms, which is 2.47% of the total state area.

Culture and tradition:

Many different communities have their place in the Jalna, all of which remain vital to the city. With the growth of the city, these groups have also grown over the years spreading prosperity. Known by various names, Banjara tribe is associated with the Jalna. It is a community that has been present for a long time and witnessed many changes. It is one which consists of people from all religious beliefs. In a city like Jalna, the religious sentiments are kept closely in mind. There are temples, masjids, Jain temples and more so that all the people live in harmony and respect each others religion.
 In Jalna you will also find activities of theater and other form of art. Various groups in the city or from neighboring cities come here to perform giving the people something different to witness. Jalna too has several education centers the students of which are active in cultural activities putting up shows from time to time.



Tourism in Jalna:-

  1. Matsyodari Devi Temple:- Jalna is full of temples and worship places so there are a lot of religious places in the city of Jalna where you can visit to get some peace and divine blessings of the almighty. The Matsyodari Temple is one of such divine locations in the city of Jalna. The Temple is named so because it is located on the hills and the shape of the hill in which it is situated lid on the shape of a fish.

2. Jamb Samantha:- This village is named after Lord Rama and Hanuman disciple’s Samantha Ramdas Swami, whose original name was Narayan Suryaji. 
 3. Anandi Temple:- Shri Sant Anandi Swami took samadhi at this place. This temple was constructed in remembrance of Shri Anandi Swami by the Maratha warrior Mahadji Scindia. 


 4. Jalna Fort:- Mastgad is the other name of Jalna fort. This was built by Kabil Khan in 1725. Nizam ul Mulk Asaf Jah was the one who ordered to build this fort. 


 5. Sri Ganesh Temple:- Occupying a large area with beautiful and attractive white color near Rajur in Jalna district, it is built on a small hill.
 6. Kali Masjid:- This is the old and ancient mosques built around 400 years back. This is one of the rare as it is made up of black stone. Jamshed khan, holy saint built it near AD 1557.It is also known as Jumma Masjid has alluring stonework.
 7. Moti Bagh:- Moti Bagh is situated near this reservoir lake. It is a garden which not only has beautiful varieties of flowers but also has music, a park for the children with mini trains and lots more.


Food in Jalna:-

The eating options available in Jalna are not just multi-cuisine, but multi cultural. You will not only find food suited for Mahashtrian taste buds but an amalgamation of many states all under one big roof. The city is friendly to food lovers as it provides them with ample options to pick out from. Be it Maharashtra food or that from states like Andhra, Gujrat, Rajasthan, you’ll find a restaurant easily with that taste.
