So, fasten your seat belts as we take you around the resplendent districts of Maharashtra. Our next destination for this tour is Parbhani.
Introduction of Parbhani:-
Parbhani is a city in the Maharashtra state of India. It is the administrative headquarters of Parbhani District. Parbhani is one of the most comprehensive cities in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra after Aurangabad and Nanded.
Parbhani is around 200 kilometers (120 mi) apart from the regional headquarters of Aurangabad while it is 491 km (305 mi) apart from the state capital i.e. Mumbai.
Culture and Tradition of Parbhani:-
Parbhani is home to Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University, which is one of only four agriculture universities in Maharashtra. Moreover, Parbhani also has an annual festival at Turabul Haq Dargah, which attracts lakhs of tourists each year.
Tourism in Parbhani:-
Parbhani is popularly known as the land of temples. There are several temples to visit recording down the famous ones:
- Pardeshwar Temple: The complete temple is made up of white marble and endures at a height of eighty feet. The shrine sees the idol of Lord Shiva alongside Devi Annapurna’s idol. The entire temple lies over an extensive area of 4,000 sq m of land. The Shivalinga discovered in this temple is formed of mercury (parad) and weighs close to 250 kilos. It is known to be the largest of its kind.

- Mudgaleshwar Temple: Established on river Godavari’s banks, the temple rests in the middle of the river flow and is approximately 900 years old. The temple was constructed in dedication to a lingam — a form of Lord Narasimha Swamy. The temple’s architecture has the history of the temple, which is illustriously illustrated by the engravings on the entrance stone of the temple.

- Mahadev Temple: Mahadev Temple is an iconic temple in the village of Parbhani and is devoted to Lord Shiva who runs by the name of Lord Mahadev. The Queen of the Malwa dynasty, Punya Shlok Ahilyabai Holkar, renovated this temple back in the 18th century. During Maha Shivratri, the temple sees a lot of worshippers and tourists alike thronging the temple gates to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings.
Food in Parbhani:-
The authentic Maharashtrian delegacies like Wada Pav, Misal Pav, Aalu Wadi, Misal, Modak, Bhel Puri and Pani Puri are all common here.
